Chubby Checker is skipping the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony because he has a concert that day. I wonder now how they are going to handle his induction. Will they have a full video package? Will there be a presenter? Steven Van Zandt will be pissed off. Will someone perform Chubby Checker songs? He also said, when you get older you don't want the same things you wanted when you were younger.

Below is about how I would like to see the ballot look. I'd like to see priority given to deserving artists who have never been nominated before, which is what the first 12 are. The last 4 have been nominated, but no more than 3 times, and not on the 2 most recent ballots. I still very much support Mariah Carey and Joy Division/New Order, but since they were nominated last year, I'm OK with them waiting a year and returning to the ballot the year after that.

Coldplay
Pointer Sisters
Bjork
Smashing Pumpkins
Wu-Tang Clan
TLC
Sonic Youth
The Monkees
Lil Wayne
PJ Harvey
De La Soul
Phil Collins
Johnny Ace
The Smiths
Beck
War

Here's the entire 38-minute 27 July 2025 performance where Jason Hanley hands the R&RHoF inductee trophy to Chubby Checker at the beginning.

They are going to show this acceptance speech and performance at the induction ceremony for sure.

It was Ron Onesti, manager of the Des Moines Theatre where the performance happened. Onesti was the one who presented Checker with his trophy.
