Ahh man...I'm honestly pretty jealous. All these games were slightly before my time.

Yeah, the '90s were absolutely incredible for gaming -- such a fun and transformative time. The transition from 2D to 3D was truly a paradigm shift that changed everything about how we experienced games. And the introduction of CD-quality audio and FMV sequences made everything feel so much more cinematic and immersive.

I did fall off the wagon when I started college though, and that was over twenty years ago now. So I've definitely missed out on a lot of what are probably considered the new classics these days. It's strange to think there's this whole era of gaming history that just passed me by while I was focused on other things.

Looking back at your list...I'm shocked at the absence of "Mega Man X"

I appreciate the Mega Man games, but I never got into them too much. I do recall that one of the original DDDers, ClashWho, was a very big fan of the franchise.

Ah, I forgot Star Fox 64 and Clayfighter 63⅓ on my list. The former's a great, groundbreaking game. The latter is a critical bomb, but dammit, I loved it.

I'm sure there are a few others I'm still forgetting.

These are all great. RollerCoaster Tycoon (1, 2, 3 + the series in general) was such an important game in my early years. One of the few games my parents approved of, and it lead me to trying lots of other games like SimCity, Sim Coaster, Sim Theme park, etc.

If you still have a copy of RCT2 (physical or on Steam), there's a cool download, OpenRCT2, that's an open-source version of the game with in-game cheats, sandbox mode (infinite cash), and other changes that make it more user-friendly.

God I loved the cheats in that game...
