Re: Movie Directors' Top Films

Every poster I am looking at + wiki/IMDB has it as a capital "S" - might be because I live in America??? IDK :)

Re: Movie Directors' Top Films

The "S" of Sangre should be capitalized for Jodorowsky.

Might be my bias against music videos...but Where the Wild Things Are seems a little low. Other than that, looks good!

Re: Movie Directors' Top Films

Speaking of Jackson...curious about the justification for having Bad Taste above the 3rd Hobbit movie. Is BT considered an influential movie in any way? Wasn't really particularly successful or acclaimed. IDK if I'd even call it Jackson's "break out" - doesn't feel top ten worthy to me.

Re: Greatest Film Score Composers (Revision Version)

Speaking of Alan Menken - I'm thinking Stephen Schwartz should probably be on this list somewhere (maybe just as an HM)

Looks good Tim. Although I wanted to ask - any reason for such a boost for Joe Hisaishi ?

Re: Movie Directors' Top Films

For Todd Haynes, I would consider May December a bit higher. It's on the 2023 list while I can't imagine Dark Waters was anywhere near the 2019 list.

For Hosoda - Mirai seems surprisingly low to me. As far as I know, it's the only Anime film to ever be nominated at the Oscars that isn't attached ...

Robert Eggers
1. The Lighthouse (2019)
2. The Witch (2015)
3. Nosferatu (2024)
4. The Northman (2022)
5. The Tell-Tale Heart (2008)
Good list...although I would want to consider if Nosferatu > The Witch is a possibility at this point.

Re: Greatest Films by Year

IMDB, Letterboxd, and wiki all consider it a 1985 film.

Re: Greatest Films by Year

I hate to be that guy again....but "A Room With a View" should be on the 1985 list...not 1986.
