My biggest surprise is the "invasion" of more modern artists into the top 50/100 and, consequently, the fall of the older ones. Something I'm still trying to understand and consider, perhaps it's a change in criteria, as you mentioned.Tim wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2026 10:27 am Well, it's not done yet (we are aiming for the top 200 at least) and nothing is set in stone. What do you have in mind for controversial changes? For what it worth, we did change the criteria somewhat with acclaim (including critical, peer, industry) replacing musical impact and cultural impact deemphasized.
But to be clear, I admire the work you all have been doing.
What about Louis Jordan? Maybe the greatest 40s artist.

While they're obviously somewhat behind in influence compared to most of the upper echelon of the list, I think modern artists such as Kendrick and Drake, assuming you're referring to them, have more than proven their popularity and acclaim at this point.Bruno wrote: Sat Mar 28, 2026 11:22 pmMy biggest surprise is the "invasion" of more modern artists into the top 50/100 and, consequently, the fall of the older ones.
