Also, how are you gonna deal with Jerry Butler? Should he also be included under the Impressions moniker? If not, he should definitely be considered as a standalone entry.

And another one: Why not consider Jefferson Starship and Starship together with Jefferson Airplane? Membership is similar enough.

I would list Butler separately, because he was only with The Impressions at the very beginning.

xx. Jimi Hendrix (incl. The Jimi Hendrix Experience; Band of Gypsies)

xxx. Jeff Beck (incl. The Jeff Beck Group)
If you do this, there are quite a few similar examples;

Neil Young (incl. Neil Young & Crazy Horse)

Tom Petty (incl. Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers)

Elvis Costello (incl. Elvis Costello & the Attractions)

Patti Smith (incl. Patti Smith Group)

To me, in all of these cases, the inclusion is understood.

I'd think so, too. In cases where the backing band could simply be added in brackets, e.g. Tom Petty (& the Heartbreakers), I'd list them that way. But fpr Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Patti Smith, it might not hurt to just leave the band projects off entirely. The way they are listed now does look a tad awkward. For musicians who played with multiple different projects, all of which are subsumed under their main entry (e.g. Todd Rundgren, Darlene Love), something like "Todd Rundgren (& related bands)" may be a viable option. When it's two different acts of similar importance that are lumped together, I'd separate them with a slash, e.g. Joy Division/New Order, George Michael/Wham!...

But I'm fine with whatever the editors suggest and will update the first post accordingly.

Alright, so let's put it back to just Jimi Hendrix/Jeff Beck for both.

Then there's also Jorma Kaukonen & Jack Cassidy leaving to form Hot Tuna but I guess you could argue they were not the most important members creatively. As they did went through a rebrand, I feel you could argue them as two related but distinct artists or at least two very distinct eras for one artist ergo two separate placements for Jefferson Airplane & Jefferson Starship/Starship who I think have enough popularity to make the ranked list at some point. I guess lumping them together would be more consistent with the our list's approach even though there's something awkward about making them one entry imo.

I think Jefferson Starship is generally thought of as a rebrand of more or less the same band but others may disagree. If we consider them together, I guess Jefferson Airplane should definitely move up a bit.

I'd have Blink-182 higher, huge influence on the pop punk acts that came after and also influenced some emo rappers like Juicewrld and Lil Peep. As seemingly sacriligious as it might be to say this, I'd say their influence is fairly comparable to the group of punk bands ahead of them and their win in popularity is more significant than those bands win in acclaim. I'd say their acclaim is fairly comparable to Giorgio Moroder solo and their landslide win in popularity could arguably put them ahead. I'd have them between No Doubt and Scorpions, as I think when compared to Scorpions, Blink-182 are a bit more acclaimed, and comparable in influence and popularity.

I feel like BTS' cultural impact and popularity are too strong for them not to be at the top of what's a fairly weak group, considering they are in big part responsible for the growing prominence of Korean popular culture as a whole. Plus, if this is correct, BTS, have probably sold more worldwide than every other artist in this group combined.
