Background: These singles are ranked based on the initial and lasting popularity, influence and impact of each song of the single. Because what makes a double-sided single great is having two great sides, the ranking is heavily weighted toward how the lesser side of the single (not necessarily the B-side) does in these criteria.
To be eligible, a single must have exactly 2 different songs, usually an A-side and B-side, but singles with a double A-side are also eligible. Also, a single has to be the first commercial appearance of either side on a single, and it must have been released prior to 1990. The latter is because the double-sided single is mostly a vinyl concept, and the end of the 1980s marks the approximate point of the decline of the vinyl single. The singles are listed with the A-side first, even if the B-side is the greater side.

How about Tutti-Frutti/I'm Just a Lonely Guy?
Re: Greatest Double-Sided Rock Singles 1952-1989
"I'm Just a Lonely Guy" isn't a very important song, and for this list, I'm looking for records where both sides are significant.
