I'd put number 9 as number 1, not 3.

I was going largely by my sense of their reputation on that. I've seen Mass in B Minor called the greatest piece of music ever made more than any other work. I thought The Ring's massiveness, and that it makes up such a big part of why Wagner is rated so highly that it seemed like a good choice for #2.
